We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and oversee all aspects of food preparation and kitchen management.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, develop and update seasonal menus that align with customer expectations and business objectives.
- Lead and supervise the kitchen brigade, providing training, mentoring and performance management.
- Prepare and cook high-quality meals while ensuring consistency in presentation, taste and portion control.
- Manage kitchen operations, including rostering, workflow coordination and delegation of duties.
- Monitor food quality, stock levels and kitchen productivity to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Order, receive and manage food supplies while maintaining appropriate inventory levels and minimising wastage.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene standards and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Control food and labour costs to achieve budgetary targets and maximise profitability.
- Liaise with management regarding menu planning, promotions, special events and customer feedback.
- Maintain a clean, organised and well-functioning kitchen environment.
- Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
- Minimum three years' experience in a senior kitchen leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, menu development and kitchen operations.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Excellent organisational, communication and time-management skills.
- Sound understanding of food safety and workplace health and safety requirements.
