Description
Log Cabin Hotel, part of the Laudy Hotels group, is seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. Located on the banks of the Nepean River, Log Cabin Hotel is a popular hospitality venue known for its quality food, exceptional service, and vibrant dining experience.This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated culinary professional to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to delivering high-quality meals to our guests.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of high-quality dishes in accordance with established recipes and venue standards.
- Assist in planning and developing seasonal menus and daily specials.
- Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation standards.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations.
- Manage stock rotation, ordering, and inventory control to minimise wastage.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations and equipment.
- Assist in training and supervising kitchen staff where required.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service during busy periods.
- Monitor food preparation and cooking processes to maintain consistency and quality.
- Relevant trade qualification (Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent).
- Minimum 1-2 years of relevant post-qualification experience as a Chef.
- Experience working in a high-volume restaurant, hotel, pub, or bistro environment.
- Strong knowledge of modern Australian cuisine and kitchen operations.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
