Description
*SHIFT: *FT Days 3 days 12 hours, 8:00am - 8:00pm *Position Summary* The Discharge Hospitality Suite (DHS) Registered Nurse plays a key role in facilitating safe, efficient, and patient-centered hospital discharges. Patients arriving to DHS are medically cleared for discharge and transitioned to the suite to complete final discharge processes in a comfortable, hospitality-focused environment. The DHS RN focuses on discharge completion, patient education reinforcement, care coordination, and patient experience, serving as the final clinical touchpoint before the patient leaves the hospital. *Unit Overview* * *DHS North:* 12 private beds * *DHS South:* 9-chair common hospitality-style discharge area * High patient turnover with an emphasis on teamwork, communication, and discharge efficiency *Essential Duties & Responsibilities* * Completes final discharge processes for medically cleared patients in the DHS setting * Reinforces discharge education and reviews After Visit Summary (AVS) with patients and families * Reviews medications with patients and provides discharge medication education * Removes IVs, midlines, and PICC lines per policy and provider orders * Administers medications as appropriate prior to discharge * Coordinates patient transportation, family pickup, and ride arrangements * Communicates collaboratively with case management, social work, facilities, and patient transport * Completes final charting and discharge documentation in the electronic medical record * Provides a calm, welcoming, and hospitality-focused environment for patients awaiting discharge * Supports patient satisfaction by addressing comfort needs and utilizing available amenities * Escalates concerns appropriately *BENEFITS* Our competitive benefits package includes the following - Immediate eligibility for health and welfare benefits - 401(k) savings plan with dollar-for-dollar match up to 5% - Tuition Reimbursement - PTO accrual beginning Day 1 Note: Benefits may vary based upon position type and/or level *EDUCATION* - Grad of an Accredited Program *REQUIRED **QUALIFICATIONS* * Current Texas RN license in good standing * Minimum of 6 months recent acute care experience * Background in Med‑Surg /Telemetry preferred * BLS (American Heart Association) required * Must be able to pass Telemetry exam upon hire *CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION * * Registered Nurse (RN) * Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
