Job DescriptionThe USGA is a mission-based golf organization whose purpose is to unify the golf community through handicapping and grassroots programs; to showcase the game's best talent through the U.S. Open, U.S. Women's Open and 13 other national championships and our museum; to provide unbiased global governance with The R&A through the playing, equipment and Amateur Status rules; and to advance issues important to golf's future, with a focus on driving sustainability, accessibility and inclusion. About this role:
The Hospitality Coordinator Intern supports both the planning and execution of the USGA's premium championship experiences. This role bridges pre-championship preparation with on-site delivery, offering exposure to client service, project coordination, and leadership within the hospitality program.
What You'll Do:
- Support pre-championship planning, including shipping materials, credential management, client communications, and staffing logistics.
- Coordinate key aspects of the hospitality program to ensure consistency and readiness across all venues.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for an assigned hospitality area during pre-championship and championship weeks.
- Supervise and guide a team of short-term Hospitality Assistants, maintaining a professional and solutions-oriented work environment.
- Deliver daily reporting on guest counts, ticket scans, upgrades, and client feedback from your designated hospitality venue.
- Aggregate post-event materials including surveys, photos, and client follow-up notes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments (partnerships, marketing, catering, operations) to ensure seamless execution.
- Demonstrate strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
Internship Dates: May 11 - July 3, 2026
Pay Rate: $17.00/hr + overtime
Where You'll Be: This internship is located at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, NY.
What you bring to the USGA:
- Undergrad students preferred
- Ability to work from the USGA's Liberty Corner, NJ office in May and June.
- Able to lift heavy items while practicing Safe Lifting and/or with the assistance of others
- Ability to be on feet for extended periods of time (12+ hours)
- Strong organizational, planning, communication and presentation skills
- Ability to take initiative and effectively execute directions
- Collaborative, high energy, and spirited
- Creative thinker and problem-solver
- Interest in hospitality and service
